How to Use:
Make sure the skin is clean and dry
Take a cotton pad and dampen with the solution
Wipe over the complexion
(you might experience tingling or stinging - this is to be expected)
Wait for the allotted time* and then apply the neutraliser gel
Leave the neutraliser gel on the skin for 1 minute
Rinse the skiin with warm water and pat dry
*1 minute for the first application then add 1 minute to the time on each subsequent application up to a maximum of 6 or 7 minutes
What to expect:
Your skin might redden after the application - this is common especially if you have sensitive skin. Don't be concerned as the redddening will subside within a few hours.
The next day the skin might feel tighter and usually feels drier.
You might notice slight flaking of the skin within a day or two of application
To counteract any drying effects of the peel use a moisturiser daily. Avoid moisturisers with mineral oils, petroleum, and silicones.
Do not use any other products or tools that can exfoliate the skin - this includes chemical peels, scrubs, dermabrasion devices, and toners containing AHAs or BHAs
As the use of chemical peels will make the skin photosensitive (more susceptible to sun damage) it is essential that you wear a sunscreen when outdoors.

Why is saliylic acid effective for oily, combination, and acne prone skin?
Overly oily and acne prone skin is typically associated with teenage years. But it can often occur during pregnancy and the menopause, it may even be casued by the use of oral contraceptives. So these conditions are related to hormonal changes and specifically due to elevated levels of testosterone. The sebaceous glands are particularly sensitive to hormones. It's thought that increased levels of testosterone cause the glands to produce much more sebum than the skin needs - a condition known as hyper-seborrhea.
Another condition associated with problematic skin is hyper-keratinosis. Keratin is a protein found in skin, hair, and nails and hyper-keratinosis caused an excess of keratin to be produced.
Hyper-seborrhea and hyper-keratinosis combine to cause the follicles to become congested with a mixture of sebum, keratin. dead skin cells, and dirt. These all combine to create a waxy pasted that builds up until the follicle becomes blocked. Should the follicle close over then acne causing bacteria might proliferate until an inflammatory response occurs and a whitehead or spot occurs. If the follicle remains open then the waxy paste dries out and oxidises forming a blackhead. Most of the congestion occurs in the T-zone simply because there are more sebum producing glands in this are of the face.
Saliylic acid is effective because unlike alpha hydroxy acids (glycolic, lactic etc) it can work within the follicles to help clear the congestion. The alcohol that the salicylic is dissolved in (salicylic acid is insoluble in water) certainly aids in this process as the alcohol is able to penetrate the waxy paste, softening it, and enabling it to be gradually removed.
Saliylic acid is also a highly effective bactericide. It will quickly kill the acne causing bacteria (Propionibacterium acnes).
I am extremely impressed with this peel. I have been using it once a week for about six weeks and my acne has gone from severe to mild, the condition and tone of my skin has improved and I am now starting to notice a reduction in scarring. It is quite drying so I use the 20% on the heavily scarred areas and the lower concentrations on other areas prone to acne. It cleans the skin like nothing I have ever used before and, although skin becomes quite sore and red initially, the acne seems to calm down within a few minutues and blemishes dry up and flake away over the course of the week. I also use a sun screen and a good moisturiser as recommended, along with a few drops of jojoba oil at night - I also use Duac (acne prescription) once daily, which also causes dryness, and I would urge users to invest in a good moisturiser, especially if using Benzoyl Peroxide or Tretinoin prescriptions or similar. I was also impressed with the price of the product, and all products on this site. I am now 32 and I have spent a great deal of money over the years trying to I improve my acne and the associated scarring, and I really wish I had discovered this peel years ago.
I bought the 10%& 15% Salicylic acid peel. I'm using it now for a couple of weeks and my skin is never been this clean.. I ♥ it
Great product. I've been using the 20% Salicylic peel for a couple of months and my skin is noticeably clearer. Best thing is that I get hardly any breakouts now! It is a little drying on the skin but that's to be expected I suppose and a moisturiser can take care of the dryness. Next time I'll drop down to the 15% or 10% peel to keep on top of things.
I purchased the 10% salicylic peel and have been using it for a few weeks. Really pleased with the results. I have pretty bad acne and the peel has reduced the outbraks a lot.My skin is a bit sensitive so it does go a bit red so I might try the 5% next time
Really helped my skin. I have acne and this product has cleared it up so much.
Really worked for me and it helped clear up some troublesome acne spots. The only reason I can't give 5 stars is because it has a strong alcohol smell. But all salicylic peels are the same so I'm not complaining!
I've been using the 10% salicylic peel to help with some blackheads I couldn't shift. So far after a few weeks the majority of them are gone and I'm sure I'll get rid of the rest. Great product.
I have very oily skin and teenage acne (even though I'm 24!). This is the first product I've ever used that has made a real difference - and believe me I've used lots of different products. I'm on my 2nd bottle of 10% Salicylic peel which I use once per week.My acne has all but disappeared (still get the odd spot but nowhere near as bad as it used to be). When I finish this bottle I'll swap to the 5% Solution just to keep on top of things. Can not recommend this product highly enough
A1 product. Just the best
