Please Note, Lucas Meyer - the manufacturers of Siligel have developed a new version of Siligel called Siligel. Siligel could be used a stand alone gelling agent to create serum bases, however Siligel serums base would be slightly turbid (not clear) and tinted a light brown. Serum bases created with Siligel are clear and colourless.

The thickening properties of Siligel™ are due to the synergistic polysaccharide combination of xanthan gum and sclerotium gum.
The presence of lysolecithin provides to Siligel™ emulsifying properties with the typical phospholipid touch. The structure of lysolecithin - hydrolysed lecithin- induces a higher HLB value allowing the development of smaller oil droplets and hence more stable and thinner emulsions.
Skin feel enhancer
Besides the phospholipid touch, Siligel™ offers emulsions an exceptional light feel and a good spreadability close to silicone, due to the synergistic combination with pullulan. Compared to classical natural gelling agents, Siligel™ provides good advantages: lower picking and resilience. Moreover, resulting textures are as sophisticated as the ones obtained with synthetic gelling agents.
Siligel™ is stable within a wide range of pH, from 3 to 10.
Siligel™ supports high quantity of electrolytes (up to 2%).
Siligel™ is compatible with surfactants. It is particularly interesting for a use in shampoos and shower gels since it increases viscosity and improves sensorial properties.
Siligel™ is compatible with most preservatives and additives.
Dosage and Applications
>0.3%: Skin feel enhancer
> 1%: Stabilizer and viscosity adjuster for all kind of emulsions
> 1.5-2%: Main gelling and emulsifying agent for gel-creams.
